You may also choose from other personas or careers such as carpenter, truck driver and student. Zombie housewife is also a popular trend. The list is almost inexhaustible, you can only be limited by your own imagination.
Tip #1: Material Collection
When you’ve decided the character you want to zombiefy, the next step is to collect the required materials. Ransack your closets for unwanted clothing you can rip up. To be a genuine zombie, you must use the suitable outfit. For instance, you would need a white lab coat, trousers, shirt and tie for doctor zombie costume. If you can’t get all you want at home, you can do some cheap shopping in your local thrift store or Goodwill store.
Tip #2: Ripping Stage
You need to look as though you just crawled out from a zombie ditch. So, you have to rip, scratch, tear and create holes on the clothing. Torn, ragged clothes make you look like an authentic zombie. Bear in mind that you have to tear and rip artistically. Getting someone to do the tearing while you have the clothes on would produce the best possible result.
If you want to achieve perfect jagged look, a pair of serrated-edge scissors or shears would do a perfect job. Create the tears and holes on spots you are most comfortable with. The ripping and holes should apply to the entire zombie outfit and should be suitable for your zombie back-story. For instance, create disheveled marks on your pant’s knees to reflect frantic crawling while struggling to escape.
Finally, you need to add some color effects to zombie costumes. These include oozing or splashed blood, bruised skin and more. You can mix some colors at home to get real red blood. Alternatively, you can purchase fake blood from a costume store.
